This is one of the many lovely views one encounters when driving overland on the Island of Bali. I don't think there can be many places on Earth where people have played such a large part in changing the natural landscape yet at the same time making it so beautiful.

Anyone who's attempted watercolors knows it is one of the most difficult traditional art techniques. In Bali Scenery by ~p-e-a-k we see a masterful execution of work in watercolor combined with the amazingly beautiful and sinuous scenery of Bali. I don't agree. The Bali rice terraces certainly are very pretty to look at, but they can't compare with the rice terraces in Banaue, Bontoc and Sagada: Those are jaw-droppers, they take your breath away!
I've painted them as well - see [link] [link] and [link] and there's probably a few more somewhere.

You are right, there are many other beautiful places in Indonesia and I have been to several of them: Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Prambanan and Borobudur, Bogor, Bandung, Medan, Lake Toba.....
