No, this was done here in Manila in the studio a few days ago, based on a quick sketch and some photos taken on the spot this summer.
Except for sketch pads and a tiny watercolour field-kit I don't keep any art materials over there because when I'm in France I never have the time or the peace of mind to do serious painting anyway.
Also, I'm too "greedy": I see inspiration wherever I turn, and if I sat down to paint one scene, I'd have no time to paint the others. So I prefer to make quick sketches of them all, take some notes and ref. photos...... and then I do the actual paintings when I'm back here, with a proper studio, all the art materials I need and, most important, with lots of uninterrupted time to paint!

Hey Pat! I know what you mean... I get like that when I go for walks around here. I get all excited about the clouds sometimes, or the sunrise/sunset. I try to capture it with a camera...impossible with sketches.
Anyway, your paintings are fresh and you seem to capture the feeling of the place.
