As for painting the glass, it's not so difficult, at least not in watercolour; I wouldn't know about oils. All you need is a very good photo of your still life, then you just paint the shapes you see there.
To paint this straight "from life" would be a short-cut to the loony-bin: every time you move your head just a fraction, the reflections and lights in the glass will move too and you'd never get anywhere! :laughing:
