More inspiration from last summer in France. Cone Flowers or Echinacea.
I was fooling around with an abstract background and all the madders I could lay my hands on - rose madder, deep madder, purple madder, brown madder..... hence the title.

So, uhm, Echinachea is "madder" as in the pigment?
I learned something new today.

BTW, could you help me out - what is "yarrow" in German? I keep running into yarrow these days.

No, sorry, I'm afraid you've got the wrong end of the stick there; Echinacea and Madder or NOT the same thing!

The flowers in the painting are Echinacea - according to

who knows a lot about plants.

I choose the title "Madder Madness" because I used all the madders in my paint box: Rose Madder Genuine, Deep Madder, Purple Madder, Brown Madder and maybe one or two others, I can't remember.

The German word for Yarrow is Schafgarbe.
