Red passion flower.

Watercolour on Fabriano Uno 300g hot-pressed
56 cm x 76 cm / 22” x 30”

Inspiration from right here in Manila.
I didn’t even know passion flowers grew here, so imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered an entire fence covered with them just around the corner from my house! And they are red ones to boot – even more spectacular than the “normal” blue ones I know from Europe.

Lovely details and the colour is so strong that it makes one think of the tropics immediately. I do admire the way you paint flowers so beautifully!!
