Watercolour on Sennelier 300 g rough, 30 x 40 cm/ 12" x 16"
I just booked our flights to Europe for this coming June and for some strange reason this inspired me to finally DO something with (like: finish) a few plein-air studies I did in our neck of the French woods last summer.
Above is the first one: Setting out
After many days of lousy weather, the sun had finally come out, hurray!
OK, the first one didn't turn out too shabby.
Next, I was headed for the ridge you can see in the distance; on the other side, there is a pretty little lake I wanted to paint.

Yes, very nice! Having done some plein air painting and sketching, I know it's not easy. On the other hand, I love it, and hope to one day to become more competent in it. I guess just one way to do that is practice, practice and more practice....
